The History of Zane Williams and BannerUp
Zane Williams, Inc. opened its doors in 1959 as a small local sign company specializing in hand lettering signs and displays for local companies. It quickly earned a reputation for providing the highest quality work in the area. Soon many of the large local companies began entrusting their important projects to Zane Williams, including Ralston Purina, Monsanto Company and Anheuser-Busch.
In 1975, the owner's son, Jeff Williams, went to work for his family's business and in 1981 purchased the business from his father. The business continued to grow and change over the next 10 years. Then in 1992, disaster struck and the company building burned to the ground in the middle of the night. The fire destroyed everything, but not the spirit of the company! Within 48 hours, the company had acquired the loan of space and equipment and quickly went back to work, hardly skipping a beat to deliver the orders due!
Undaunted, Jeff Williams purchased another company building and equipment for silk screen printing products such as signs, decals, point of purchase displays, etc. Zane Williams had been silk screening marine acrylic banners with manual presses, but this opened up a much larger market. It was then that our BannerUp! light pole banner and bracket product demand exploded! In addition, we became very successful bidders in the point of purchase product market. We have produced banners of all sizes and designs for many high profile events such as Super Bowls, Olympic games and festivals, two Rolling Stones concert tours, and Pope John Paul II’s visit to St. Louis.
In 1998 we entered the world of digital printing by purchasing a 72” roll-to-roll digital printer, a perfect fit for our existing customer base. After getting comfortable with the technology, we wasted no time in bringing the very best to our customers and purchased an Inca Columbia Flat bed digital press. This press allowed us to service our customers with the latest technology and bring enormous savings for short run graphics on almost any kind of rigid flat stock.
Zane Williams, Inc. is proud to have acquired a national reputation for silk-screened and digital products. We have won many national and international awards for print quality, and are especially proud of maintaining that quality and yet never failing to meet a promised due date. We promise our customers quality and they trust us to deliver on time. We look forward to being of assistance to you!
